Casa Bacardi Halloween 2020 – Staycation
Concept
Kicking off the first installation of the Casa Bacardi staycation series, the Halloween edition was an immersive and highly curated invite-only experience. Aptly named Casa Abode for the night, we took over Mumbai’s premium boutique hotel Abode and turned it into the hotel of horrors.
With the blue moon looming over Halloween after 71 years, it felt apt to host a 15 hour immersive celebration; featuring experiential rooms, interactive Horror characters, a preview into Bacardi’s Halloween special cocktails and an exclusive mixology session to learn them for your personal in-room bars, special music performances, projection rooms, live tarot and more.

strategy
To kickoff the celebrations prior to the staycation, 30+ tastemakers across spaces were seeded with a special Casa Bacardi: Halloween kit which included the Rum23 kit (Bacardi Bottle | Vials of Blood in test tubes| Soda) to create their own Halloween cocktails along with a custom candy pack, Halloween socks, scented candle, Sabko cold brew, all in a customised tote generating great buzz around the upcoming staycation. We also launched an exclusive contest, giving 1 consumer the opportunity to be a part of the staycation and win 1 out of the 12 rooms in the Casa Abode hotel.
Execution
Come 31st evening, we opened doors to Casa Abode – with the lobby transformed into the hotel of your nightmares, donned in red lights, creatures on the walls and David Pedro, the bellboy who has been stuck within the walls of Casa Abode for the last 180 years. The night kicked off with a special mixology session by Bacardi ambassadors, teaching guests Halloween special cocktails using Bacardi. A special in-room bar with Bacardi and specific measured out ingredients was set in each room to give guests the chance to create their own cocktails after the mixology session. The night continued with a special sit-down dinner at Miss T, paired with Bacardi cocktails for guests followed by the after-party at Casa Abode.
With the lower zone transformed into the Hotel of Horrors, the bar and dance area, the upper zone of the hotel, connected by an abandoned dimly lit staircase consisted of 3 immersives rooms. Room 1 consisted of our second interactive character, taking guests through a horrifying enactment of her history in the hotel, locked in her room. Room 2 was a special projection room with visuals, sound & light, creating an immersive photo booth while room 3 consisted of a tarot reader, taking all those who dared through the glimpses into their future.
A performance by DJ Shezi and other special guests along with Bacardi’s Halloween special cocktails, kept the party going.
